What We’ve Been Up To:
So nice to see everybody this week at Unity!  We had one newcomer and a great turnout of familiar faces too.

Movie Recommendations
Most of us were at the showing of The Magic Pill last week, and we were still buzzing about it.  So many people have expressed what an impression it made.  If you didn’t get to see it, or if you’d like to view it again, Amazon is streaming it now.    This film is 90 minutes and it’s well worth the time.  If you have loved ones who aren’t familiar with this way of eating, or perhaps they are concerned about its safety, set up a movie night and watch it together.

We also recently viewed Is Sugar the New Fat? which was very good.  It’s 40 minutes and also well worth the time.  I love the movies and documentaries as they are often both a way for us to learn more and to share the story with others in an entertaining way.  And  they so often give us a boost to our own commitment level too.

New Beginner Resource
Many of you know that dietdoctor.com is one of my favorite sites.  They just released a new two-sided brochure called Low Carb for Beginners that is sure to be a helpful tool for those getting started.    You can find a copy of it here.

Sweeteners
We often get questions about which sweeteners are best to use with this way of eating.  Here’s another great article from Dietdoctor about which sweeteners are better.  They also include some good info about  why some of the most commonly found sweeteners aren’t recommended.

Guest Speaker at our 3/27/18 meeting
Dr Craig Backs, a local internist and popular speaker about heart health, will be our guest  March 27th at 6:30 at Unity.  We recently heard Dr Backs speak  at Memorial  and are looking forward to seeing him again.  Hope to see you then too!
